Congratulations Isabella!
Team Illinois is proud to announce that 19U Isabella Salvino has committed to play ACHA Division I Ice Hockey for Penn State University and compete in the Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association.
The Lady Lions are coached by Dillon Adamson.
Isabella was attracted to Penn State for many reasons. “Penn State University is not only incredibly strong academically, they also have one of the strongest alumni networks in the nation.” She stated. “The school spirit is amazing. You can’t go anywhere without seeing almost everyone dressed in something PSU. The campus is beautiful and there is a reason its nicknamed Happy Valley.’
She added, “I’d like to thank my parents first and foremost for absolutely everything. Id also like to thank my past and present coaches including Coach Ponce, Mike Campbell, Jim Clare and Andrew Schlie. I’ve learned so much from all of them and I’m grateful. I am also grateful to have had the opportunity to play with this awesome group of girls at Team Illinois. It has been such a fun season. We all truly came together this season and enjoyed every minute. My coaches this year have been great. Coach Ponce, Coach Ben, Coach Rob and Coach Pat…..thank you for always pushing us and sharing laughs along the way. You are all welcome to come visit me in Happy Valley! Thanks for the great memories.”
Although this was Isabella’s first year at Team Illinois, she truly left her mark. “Isabella was one of the most physical players on our defensive end and expressed grit and determination to “protect the house”. She has developed to new heights since joining TI this year and will transition smoothly into the college level,” Coach Ponce had to say.
We agree! She was fun to watch!
Best of luck to you at PSU, Isabella! We Are!
