Megan McCormick Commits To RIT!
Team Illinois is thrilled to announce that forward Megan McCormick has committed to play NCAA Division I college hockey at RIT. The Tigers are coached by Celeste Brown. The team plays their games in the Gene Polisseni Center located in Rochester, NY.
The Rochester Institute of Technology competes in the CHA where they will face off against other CHA schools such as Penn State, Mercyhurst and Syracuse.
“I was attracted to RIT because of the variety of majors and endless opportunities. After taking many virtual tours I really like the facilities and overall resources that were offered as a student. In addition to their Women’s Hockey Program, I really loved talking and getting to know the coaches. I love this new coaching staff and am thrilled to be an integral part of the exciting things that they are doing. The Gene Polisseni Center is incredible and I can’t wait to get on the ice. Throughout my college search process I always ended up coming back to RIT. This is where I belong,” stated Megan.
“Megan is the kind of player who will bring a high skill level and hockey IQ to any team she plays on. The opportunities for her to lead and develop are endless.” Coach Tom Boyles said. “I know we will take much pride in watching her play.’
Megan has had much help along the way from friends, family and coaches. “Thank you to my parents for your never-ending support. Thank you, Coach Tom for pushing me to work hard and helping me to achieve my goals. You always say to “practice your game, game your practice.” Thank you, Team Illinois AAA Hockey for giving me a home these last four years. I’d also like to thank Jackie Kooistra for helping to open doors and opportunities and to Carla Pentimone for guiding me through the college process.
Megan plans on exploring Media Arts and Technology and Engineering Technology in school.
We wish Megan the very best. Congratulations!!
